Michelangelo, often nicknamed Mikey, is one of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT). He is easily distinguished by his orange bandana and his primary weapon, nunchaku.
Michelangelo is generally portrayed as the most jovial and lighthearted of the group. His love of pizza and his tendency to crack jokes make him the comedic relief of the TMNT team.
The TMNT version of Michelangelo first appeared in the 1987 *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* animated TV show, quickly establishing his iconic persona. The cartoon is the source that established many of the iconic aspects of the turtle characters and their personalities.
